17 July 2014 | Conference “Transnational Corporate Human Rights Abuses: Delivering Access to Justice”

On 17 July, Sandra Cossart, in charge of Sherpa’s Globalisation and Human Rights (GDH) programme, will take part in the conference “Transnational Corporate Human Rights Abuses: Delivering Access to Justice” organised by CORE Coalition and Business & Human Rights Ressource Center and the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL).

Victims of human rights abuse by business, wherever it occurs, require full and effective access to judicial remedies. Three years on from the adoption of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, there is more work to be done.

CORE Coalition and Business & Human Rights Resource Centre (BHRRC), in association with the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL), will host an afternoon conference on 17 July to discuss recommendations for actions that should be taken to address the issue, drawing on “The Third Pillar: Access to Judicial Remedies for Human Rights Violations by Transnational Business”, produced by CORE, ICAR and ECCJ, and “Injustice Incorporated” by Amnesty International.
