Behind our finance,
a matter of transparency

Sherpa has chosen to be independent of all political and economic power. As a result, we do not accept any resources likely to undermine this independence or influence our work, whatever their source. Drawing on our expertise, our experience and the work of our partners, we define our strategic and operational objectives completely independently.

As our victories are the fruit of work that spans several months, or even several years, the long-term commitment of our supporters is essential to the pursuit of our missions. Our actions would not be possible without the organisations and donors who share our vision of a fairer world that respects human rights and the environment.

Funding

How is Sherpa funded?

Sherpa is funded mainly thanks to grants from private French and foreign foundations. Sherpa also receives donations from individuals, which are eligible for tax relief in France. We scrupulously monitor the origin of funds that finance our actions and have adopted a very strict policy on donations.

Expenditures

Where your donation goes

Programming and Projects

Most of Sherpa's budget is devoted to carrying out its missions.

Research, advocacy, legal action, support for victims and affected communities, capacity sharing activities are carried out by the Sherpa team.

Support

Part of the association's expenditure is allocated to running costs, including rent, service charges, IT maintenance, etc.

These costs also include human resources and administrative and financial management.

Communication and fundraising

While communication spaces are monopolised by large corporations, Sherpa’s media visibility is important because it allows not only the topics on which its team works to exist, but also the voice of the communities and victims we represent to be heard. Because we refuse all corporate donations, Sherpa also appeals to the generosity of the public via fundraising campaigns.
